The purpose for organizing the Southeastern VA Bassmasters is multi-faceted. Of primary importance is the conservation of a natural resource, the fisheries of the state of Virginia and of the nation. All members practice and promote catch and release procedures and instruct members and non members in the necessity of conserving the fisheries of this country so that future generations will be able to experience the great traditions of our forefathers.

Second and of no lesser importance is to promote the spirit of friendship and camaraderie through the sharing of knowledge, experience and techniques of bass fishing on the various waters in the local area. This principle is designed to assist both novice and experienced fishermen in his endeavor to become a more skilled and respected angler.

The final objective of the club is to strive to be the best bass fishing club within the Virginia Bass Federation through active participation in the Federation sponsored civic activities and tournaments.
